Reference Table: Lifecycle Definitions

Lifecycle Description
In Production This describes an aircraft that is not yet built, but has been ordered by a manufacturer's customer. When there is not yet an actual serial number assigned by the manufacturer, JETNET will add the aircraft with a mock serial number beginning with TBD (To Be Determined), which will be updated when the actual serial number has been assigned by the manufacturer.
New - With Manufacturer This describes a brand new aircraft that is built, but not yet delivered to its first owner. The aircraft has a serial number and often times has a registration number assigned to it but the manufacturer is still the owner. The aircraft will stay in a Lifecycle Stage of "New - With Manufacturer" until it sells to its first retail user. There may be some history on these aircraft showing it selling from a manufacturer to a distributor or to a financial institution, but it will stay in Lifecycle State "New - With Manufacturer" until it sells to its first retail user.
In Operation This describes aircraft that are currently in use.
Retired This describes aircraft that are no longer in use. These aircraft have been written-off, parted-out, put on display, used for training or other reasons that prevent them from flying.
Retired-In Storage This describes aircraft that are in storage and have retained a registration number. These aircraft may be returned to active operation.
